"I've got lots of junk you need"

Dear Reader,
Laura here. One of my personal highlights of the garage sale season is the pilgrimage to Pierceton, IN where I assist my mother in hosting the annual Balke Family Sale. This year's sale was nearly seamless, excepting a bit of rain this morning that pushed our opening from 8 am to 9 am. With the help of an amazing tent courtesy of James Townsend and Sons, not even the weather could stop us!

Signage is key. young children, say a nephew, will also help bring in business.

My mother, veteran garage saler Kathy Balke, taught me everything I know about secondhand

Many thanks to Cydney and Lauren Townsend for setting up this lovely tent!

A fanny pack makes an excellent cash box!

The Hydrangeas were quite the topic of conversation.

It was a fantastic sale! Now time to clean up the leftovers...
